Oscar Restrepo is a middle-aged poet who enjoyed some success in his youth, but now finds himself trapped in a life of disappointment and hardship. Obsessed with poetry yet never truly recognized for his work, he has quietly become a poet the world moved on from.

A chance encounter brings him face to face with Yurlady, a girl from a humble background with a remarkable gift for verse. Oscar decides to guide her onto the path of poetry, setting in motion an unexpected turn of events.
