Fujiko (2026)

In 1970s Japan, Fujiko takes the unconventional route of becoming a single mother after reclaiming her infant who was forcibly taken away by her in-laws. Her decision is met with derision by unsympathetic family members, while the lack of childcare facilities leaves her with less time to work, thrusting her into dire situations. Yet Fujiko remains determined; she encounters warmth and support when she least expects, allowing her to create the life she envisions for her family.
