Portrait of a Lady on Fire (2019)

On a remote French island in the late eighteenth century, a young painter is commissioned to secretly paint the portrait of a reluctant aristocratic woman. To fulfill her task, she must quietly observe her companion during their walks together, later capturing her on canvas by memory alone. Yet through this quiet interplay of observation and disguise, they begin, at last, to truly look back at one another.
