Tourism (2018)

Commissioned by SGIFF and ArtScience Museum and exhibited in 2017, Tourism features Nina, a young woman from Yamato City, Japan, who wins a lottery ticket to travel anywhere she chooses in the world. Settling on Singapore, Nina and Su (her roommate) pack their bags for an adventure. When Nina misplaces her cellphone and loses Su in a crowded Chinatown, Nina is left to fend for herself within Singapore’s unfamiliar built environment. Her winding path takes her on random adventures and encounters with kind strangers as she tries to find her way back to Su.
