Young Mothers (2025)

dir. Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne

Young Mothers follows five teenage mothers—Jessica, Perla, Julie, Ariane and Naïma—living in a shelter that supports young women as they navigate early motherhood. Each girl faces challenging personal circumstances, yet they form a fragile community as they strive to build a better life for themselves and their children. Directed by Jean Pierre and Luc Dardenne, the film reflects their signature social realism and intimate character focus. Premiering in the main competition at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, it won both the Best Screenplay Prize and the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury.
