Timestamp follows young people in Ukraine whose daily lives are marked by war. Blending documentary realism with poetic reflection, the film portrays a generation navigating uncertainty, friendship, and resilience while searching for their own path. Known for her intimate, finely tuned portraits of young people (Stop-Zemlia), Gornostai turns her gaze to a new generation navigating life under the shadow of war. Blending observational realism with moments of lyrical reflection, Timestamp captures fleeting fragments of daily existence—friendship, uncertainty, resilience—at a time when nothing feels permanent.
Timestamp offers a powerful glimpse into school life across all age groups, capturing the everyday resilience of students who continue learning as their country faces war, and the unwavering commitment of teachers striving to create stability amidst chaos. The film was awarded the Antavania Jury Prize at DocsBarcelona, and its international recognition continues to grow. Timestamp has been officially selected for competition at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival, and is also nominated for the 2025 Osnabrück Peace Film Prize.
