Take Off The Blindfold, Adjust Your Eyes, Look In The Mirror, See The Face Of Your Mother is an independent animated film, made primarily by Jonni Pepper-Golions, with some help from her friends. It is the fourth installment of Jonni’s “The Blindfold” series, which is made up of the films Wasteland, Secrets and Lies in a Town of Sinners, and Barber Westchester. In this installment, the universe starts to become smaller, on the road to its death. Unlike the other installments, which were relatively more linear, this film works more like a “cartoon-poem”, that uses formerly established locations and characters as symbols to tell a more personal story to the author. About the Panel The screening will be followed by a post-show discussion panel “What could it cost, ten dollars?” with Jonni, Exyl and other film programmers, producers and practitioners on how much it takes to sustain independent film. We will discuss how much it costs to make a film, distribute a film, screen a film, and how each worker navigates the challenges specific to them. The panel will take on the unconventional shape of a multi-nodal facilitation, with participants each asking a question to the others before opening the floor to the audience. Panelists: Jonni Pepper-Golions, Renee Ng, Viknesh Kobinathan, Huang Junxiang, Cheng Chai Hong Moderated by: EXYL
