Synopsis
Armand (2024)
Armand, a six-year old boy, is accused of crossing boundaries against his best friend Jon at elementary school. While no one knows what actually happened, the incident triggers a series of events, forcing parents and school staff into a captivating battle of redemption where madness, desire and obsession arise. Elisabeth, portrayed by Renate Reinsve (The Worst Person in the World), is urgently called to the school after her son, Armand, is accused of inappropriate behavior. What begins as a routine parent-teacher meeting soon spirals into an emotionally charged confrontation, as the school principal, nurse, and other parents grapple with uncertainty, fear and escalating tensions. Directed by Halfdan Ullmann Tøndel, grandson of legendary filmmakers Liv Ullmann and Ingmar Bergman, Armand unfolds in real time, masterfully dissecting the fragile boundaries between truth and perception. This gripping psychological drama has garnered acclaim from audiences and critics alike.
