Ex Press (2011)

Synopsis
Ex Press (2011)
A passenger train traverses the Philippine landscape as a drifting monologue slips between memory, fantasy, and historical reflection. Made intuitively and spontaneously on location, Ex Press blurs travelogue, documentary, and personal essay through fragmented narration and shifting perspectives that unsettle meaning and legibility. As the train moves in fits and starts through the jungle, the film intersperses these fragments with the story of two sons searching for answers behind the mysterious resignation of their father, a railway police officer once tasked with defending the trains from vandals along the tracks.
